Adore Life
âWhen Savages delivered the âAdore Lifeâ artwork, they really captured the feeling of the music contained within,â recalls Matador founder Chris Lombardi. âA giant fist of a record. Itâs visceral and taut much like their incendiary live shows. This record reminds that Savages were the REAL DEAL.â
Â
Itâs about change and the power to change. Itâs about metamorphosis and evolution. Itâs about sticking to your guns and toughing it out. Itâs about now, not tomorrow. Itâs about recognizing your potential. Itâs about self-doubt and inaction. Itâs about you. Itâs about me. Itâs about you and me and the others. Itâs about the choices we make. Itâs about finding the poetry and avoiding the clichĂ©. Itâs about being the solution, not the problem. Itâs about showing weakness to be strong. Itâs about digging through your dirt to look for diamonds. It's about claiming your right to think unacceptable thoughts. Itâs about boredom and the things we do to drive it away. Itâs about being on your own so you can be with people. Itâs about knowing what it means to be human and what it might mean one day. Itâs about the parts and the sum of the parts. It's about the music and the message: together, one and the same. Itâs about bass, guitars, drums, and vocals. Itâs about opening-out and never, ever dying. But most of all itâs about love, every kind of love. Love is the answer.Â
Savagesâ second album, Adore Life, was recorded at RAK Studios, London in April 2015. Johnny Hostile was the producer and Richard Woodcraft the engineer. Anders TrentemĂžller took care of the mixing in Copenhagen.
All songs were written and played by Savages â AyĆe Hassan (bass), Fay Milton (drums), Gemma Thompson (guitar), Jehnny Beth (vocals). Lyrics by Jehnny Beth.
